CHRISTENSEN Tells About Finland Wanda Alphin, Rt. 4, Kinston, recently returned from Finland where she lived and worked with farm families as part of the International Farm Youth Exchange (IFYE) program. "I lived with seven differ ent families in different parts of the country,” she told Mrs. Marguerite Kennedy, home ec onomics extension agent, Le noir County. "Some families were urban, some rural. They had a wide range of incomes.” Among other things Miss Al phin learned to cook Finnish foods, enjoy sauna baths, and study in Finnish schools. She said, "Finnish cities are modern and farms are becoming more so, as families buy milking ma chines, tractors, and other equipment. A mobile store comes into the rural areas each week to supply families with items they do not produce on the farm," she adds. Miss Alphin found the Finns a do-it-yourself people. “Their small farms are models of self efficiency for the families they serve,” she reports. Restores Cradle By using refinishing techni ques taught in an Extension workshop, Mrs. H. T. White, Tyrrell County, restored an an tique cradle. The cradle, a rocker style with metal hinges that are ornate and graceful, had been in the family for years. Mrs. Ann Davenport, county extension home economics agent, says Mrs. White Is pleas ed with the result. “Just think of the money I saved and the NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF IDEAL PAINT & WALLPAPER COMPANY NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Articles of Dissolution of Ideal Paint & Wallpaper Com pany, a North Carolina corpor ation. were filed in the office of the Secretary of State of North Carolina on the 9th day of February. 1966, and that all creditors of and claimants against the corporation are re quired to present their respec tive claims and demands im mediately in writing to the corporation so that it can pro ceed to collect its assets, con vey and dispose of its proper ties, pay, satisfy and discharge its liabilities and obligations and do all other acts required to liquidate its business and af fairs. A washer and dryer usually takes 5 feet of space; the iron ing area, including table, clothes basket, and garment hanger, 7 square feet. Spruce Up Wardrobe “I haven’t got a thing to wear,’ is a common complaint. However, Rachel Keisler, home economics extension agent, Mc Dowell County, says it would be more accurate to say “I haven’t got an appropriate thing to wear.” To be well-dressed, choose garments that accentuate the positive in your size, personal ity, features, and coloring, she advises.
